- What is Schop?
Schop (we hope) is an easy, convenient and guilt-free way to enjoy great food – in fact, you can buy from retailers who also supply some of Edinburgh's Michelin starred restaurants! By using Schop you will have access to great quality, affordably priced, locally-sourced food and drink. Moreover, Schop’s delivery service is carbon-neutral and none of the packaging used needs to end up in bins, landfill, rivers or the sea.

- Why should I buy from Schop?
If you like competitively priced, great quality food which is sustainably packaged and delivered to your door by a carbon-neutral delivery service, we hope you’ll love Schop. Our aim is to provide convenient access to great quality, and therefore great value, locally supplied food. What’s not to like?
- Where do you deliver?
At present we only have scheduled deliveries within Edinburgh. However, we want as many people as possible to have access to the great food available on schop.co, so if you don’t live within Edinburgh send an email to email@example.com and we’ll do our best to arrange a delivery to you.
To check whether we deliver to your area simply enter your postcode when prompted and schop.co will confirm if we deliver to your location.
- When will you be coming to my area?
Whilst we’re only delivering within Edinburgh to start with, our plan is to be able to expand our service to other cities, and rural areas, as soon as we can. Part of Schop’s service is a no-problem attitude, so if you want to buy from Schop but don’t live in Edinburgh email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll do our best to get what you want to you.
- Is your packaging eco-friendly?
Yes! We use as little packaging as possible and the packaging we’re required to use is either reusable, compostable or recyclable. Much of our packaging comes from the Edinburgh based company Vegware, who manufacture fully compostable plant-based plastics.
- Is your delivery eco-friendly?
Yes again! We work with Forest Carbon from whom we buy certified carbon credits to offset the carbon we create. We hope certified biodiversity credits will become available soon too, so we can include them in our model. We’re aiming to be as kind to Earth as possible so if you know of any ways in which we can do better we’d love to hear from you via email@example.com.
Placing an order
- What payments do you accept?
We use a third-party payment gateway provider (Stripe). Via Stripe, we accept Visa, Visa Debit and Mastercard payments.
- Do you hold my payment card details?
No, we do not hold details of your payment card. Moreover, we use the Stripe payment gateway so we don't have access to your card details at any time.
- How can I cancel my order?
To cancel your order please email firstname.lastname@example.org no less than 12 hours before your scheduled delivery slot.
- When will I be charged for my order?
Payment will be taken when you place your order, following you will receive a receipt confirming your order.
- Can I order via email?
We don't process orders by email. However, if you're looking for a specialist item feel free to email us at email@example.com and we'll do our best to find what you're looking for.
- Has my order been successful?
Once you've placed your order you will be emailed a receipt confirming that your order has been placed. If you haven't received your confirmatory email please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, with your name and address, so we can confirm whether or not your order has been placed and send you a confirmatory email of your order.
- Is there a minimum order?
Yes, the minimum order on Schop is £30.
- What are your delivery charges?
Our delivery charges depend on how local you want to shop. When buying from shops close to your delivery address there will be no delivery charge. If you choose to buy from shops further away then a small delivery charge, which helps us to offset the extra carbon, will apply.
- When will my schop order be delivered?
Your schop will be delivered during your chosen delivery window. If for some reason we're running late (or early) we'll do our best to let you know.
- I am going to be out at my expected delivery time - what do I do now?
If you're going to be our when we deliver we can still deliver your order if you have a secure location where we can leave your order. In this situation please provide details of where you would like the order to be delivered and how we can access the secure location. Whilst we will do our best to ensure that your order will remain safe and fresh in your secure location, orders delivered to a customer's secure location will be the responsibility of the customer and left at the customer's own risk.
- It's outside of my expected delivery time - what do I do now?
Hopefully, you will have already been contacted by the delivery driver to tell you where they are, but if not it's likely that your delivery is only a few minutes away. Either way, we're sure it will be worth the wait!
